She's just an ordinary girl (though she's often likened to a modern day Disney princess) perched just on the edge of her happily ever after: wide eyes, a romantic spirit, a personality so bubbly it borders on irritating, ambition that won't quit, hair that gives little girls unrealistic expectations, a voice both angelic and soulful, and a seemingly unattainable dream. Now add some fishnet stockings, plenty of lipstick, and catchy pop tunes about everything from vampires to inner beauty. You've just been introduced to Traci Hines.
Traci is a singer/songwriter native to Southern California. She's known for her covers of popular hits on YouTube, and her more recently released original music.
Fantasy, Traci's debut single (released in October 2010) is an upbeat pop anthem that blends the genres of dance, electro and pop-rock music. Its hook teases the listener with possibilities of fantasy come true, then exposes the overall theme of the song, which encourages listeners to value inner beauty and truth over stigma and stereotype, finally declaring the best fantasy come true is when you are loved for who you are, not what's on the surface.
Traci's next upcoming single, Stay With You, is an emotional power ballad inspired by Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Saga. Expect the unexpected from this haunting yet bright love song about the most famous impossible romance in current pop culture.
Traci not only writes and performs her own music, but also has become known for her performances as classic fairytale princesses and characters. It started out as only a hobby for fun, creating costumes for photo shoots and video performances, but quickly became a dream job, as Traci became one of the most sought after children's entertainers in the United States. Traci's character performances, though always child-friendly, are not limited to young audiences. She often appears as iconic characters for a broad range of audiences, at a wide variety of events and causes: award ceremonies, DVD release parties, nonprofit functions, grand openings, galas and conventions. She has portrayed virtually every popular fairytale character, but The Little Mermaid is her most requested persona.
Besides singing and acting, Traci has also become successful in her modeling career. She began modeling professionally in 2009, debuting as a model in alternative clothing for HotTopic.com. Being that she is only 5'3, Traci never thought she would model professionally, but after encouragement from friends, she decided to give it a shot anyways, and was pleasantly surprised to get a call back for a go see followed by her first booking that same day. She still works with Hot Topic modeling and creating video content for their makeup line, War Paint. Her single, Fantasy, also received placement in HT video in 2011. Traci has gone on to model for other retailers, designers and publications such as Locketship.com, CollectifUSA.com, The Atomic Boutique, Vans shoes, Firefly-path.net, MermaidRentals.com, the cover of FAE Magazine, and a spread in Mermaids and Mythology magazine. Traci was also a part of AnimeTV Seasons 3 and 4, an anime review show by Bang Zoom! Entertainment, celebrating anime, manga and Japanese pop culture. Traci often performs at anime conventions, pairing her original music with anime theme covers, singing in both English and Japanese.
Traci is also an active voice-over artist, and has been heard on radio, television and in video games. Traci began VO work when she was 12 years old on a Saturday morning radio program singing and narrating children's stories! Funnily enough, not much has changed. Traci's voice, though versatile, lends itself especially well to spots geared towards young audiences. Recent credits include a children's jewelry-maker commercial for Orbeez on Nickelodeon, and Minute to Win it by Zoo Games.
An artist in more ways than one, Traci loves designing costume pieces and photo shoot/performance items for herself, as well as her customers, who commission her for couture wigs, and the unique mermaid-inspired hair pieces she sells through her Etsy shop, the Siren's Grotto. Traci also does makeup and hairstyling. Despite all her artistic multitasking tendencies, Traci's most fervent passion is music, and she hopes to touch hearts and lives through it. Traci has performed at the Nokia Theater, the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, Anime Expo, and was even a contestant on American Idol for a short time. Traci lives by 2 mottos: Romans 8:28, "And we know all things work together for good, to those who love God, and are called according to His purpose." and Ariel, The Little Mermaid's famous quote, "Someday I'll be part of your world!"
